Mackned has been consistently releasing some of his strongest work over the past year, with releases such as God Mom and Deadbeat. His newest offering “SHINE IN PEACE (RIP CLIP THE KID)”, which is also produced by Mackned, shows the artist moving away from the traditional tropes, such as the ‘sad boy’ aesthetic that other members of GBC still employ. The song features a hazy-witch house like beat with Mackned’s vocals tuned down to the extreme resembling the track Trapdoors by Salem. This is a very interesting release from the Seattle based artist and while I doubt this sound will be used by him again, I really do hope he finds a way to drop more bewildering songs like this.
